Fort Worth: Mom shocked by poll worker's migrant "trail" remark to son

The real surprise is that the mother is a Republican. How much you want to bet after her 'kick in the stomach' she recovered enough to vote for all the Republicans on the ballot?

Stephanie Rodriguez said she always tries to support candidates and causes she believes in strongly. "I've always been a Republican. Always," Rodriguez said on Tuesday.

But as the mother of three young kids went to perform her civic duty Monday, she was met with some nasty remarks from a paid poll worker at the nearby sub-courthouse.

"I was typing in my access code, and had my son," she said. "This worker looked and said, 'Oh, if he's from Honduras, he should be on the trail!' I was just shocked."

Her toddler, Jerry, had tagged along with mom for fun. The youngster was wearing his favorite Honduran soccer jersey. "He was talking about the migrant caravan," said Stephanie. "I just couldn't believe it. It's almost like getting kicked in the stomach."

people going to realize, when you vote for the I'm going to eat your face party, to not be surprised when their members start nibbling at your neck.

They hate you and that is never going to change.

I probably shouldn't assume she didn't care about immigrants on the basis of this article alone, but if she's a Republican, it's a natural assumption for me to make.

has been affecting her personally for her entire life? And that she has to be extremely aware of it?

She's obviously conservative, though, and conservatism is not all about bigotry. When she says she votes for what she believes in, she means it. Studies repeatedly show that principled people vote their principles, not what others think should be their interests.

Btw, although I for sure don't respect Republicans these days, I do at least respect her for having the courage and commitment to register Republican long ago and to vote the way she believes Republicans should, instead of refusing to be involved as so many are.

The poll worker is a racist ass, who was justifiably removed. The mother is clueless about how racism is going to impact her kid. What fools there are.

Ms. Rodriguez probably did not want to say, and if that's the case I assume it's because she did still vote Republican.
