https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-45965605The European Parliament has voted for a complete ban on a range of single-use plastics across the union in a bid to stop pollution of the oceans.
MEPs backed a ban on plastic cutlery and plates, cotton buds, straws, drink-stirrers and balloon sticks.

There is a big movement to reduce bottle water sales. At least in plastic. The Europeans love their bottled water but seem to be switching to glass which is recycled or refillable bottles.
Must admit I love a liter of bottled sparkling water with dinner and wine. But they are always glass thus recycled. And it seems more restaurants has sparkling water on tap eliminating the need for bottles.
