There will be heightened security, so I don't believe that anything will happen, but this is a personal journey.
Matthew Shepard was a cousin of my spouses' childhood friend and college roommate.
This friend came out at the same time as Matthew to their very large, loving family. My spouse was the phone with this friend for hours after they saw "Boys Don't Cry" because it triggered all the pain and horror that was visited on that family in 1998.
We will be attending with family at the National Cathedral, and no one will scare us away.
These mutherfuckers sending bombs will not take this away from us. No amount of attempted erasure of queer people by this administration and the pitiful minority that supports them will stop love.
We will bear witness.
