I Don't Want to Attack the Rolling Stones..but

I've read that Trump is using the Rolling Stone's Sympathy For The Devil at his Rallies.

Doesn't the Trump Organization have to get Permission from the Stones to do this/

I just can't imagine that Mick would approve of this..

I covered Rolling Stones Songs with my band back in the 70s... Sympathy was my favorite.

I'll tell you one thing... If they gave approval... I'll never listen to another Stone Song again!

But hopefully someone out here can make sense of this..

Just Found this on the web... Perhaps they should hold a Presser..

“So Patty, asked me about Donald Trump using Stones music, and we [previously] said, like, ‘Don't use our music,’” Jagger said on a Rolling Stones Twitter Q&A on Wednesday afternoon. “So, the thing is, when you appear in America...if you're in a public place like Madison Square Garden or a theater, you can play any music you want, and you can't be stopped. So, if you write a song and someone plays it in a restaurant that you go to, you can't stop them. They can play what they want.”

2. It is not always possible for performers to refuse use (if they pay the fees)... Do you really think

the Pretenders WANT Rush Limbaugh to use "My City Was Gone" as his theme song?

Trump's events are public events so they have no way to force him to stop playing.

3. I doubt very much that they've given him permission.

GOPers are good at using music without permission, but after all this time the Stones might have sold the license to the recording company or another entity so they'd no longer have the rights to it and they couldn't stop him from using it. That right would belong to whomever owns the license.

8. either way, what message is he trying to convey to his followers?

That he'll eventually fuck them over, and that's too bad b/c you can't always get what you want? Or that he is, in fact, the Devil?

Didn't he also used to recite some fable about how you shouldn't pick up a snake and expect not to get bit, because you knew he was a snake all along?

Seriously, is he just fucking trolling them since he doesn't give a flying fuck about their welfare, and just wants their worshipful support (and votes)? And knows they're too stupid to notice it....

And I am sure Trump plays them out of spite. That is just his style. Keith should have shivved him while he had the chance.

9. A lot of music by legendary groups like the Stones, The Eagles, The Temptations, Guns and Roses.

Is owned by second or even third parties now. The groups have no ownership over use of songs, or even distribution. TheBesttles (the two surviving ones), the surviving Eagles, the Stones, Guns and Roses, are pretty much all strong liberals, but that does not mean their music won't be used by the right.

The sold it to ABKCO which was their label at the time. They have no rights to who uses their music.
