Early voting in Brevard County, Florida

I had hoped to vote today. My errands to get ready for a business trip this week have taken me near three early voting polling places.

I couldn't locate an open parking spot at any of them and the line at each one is well outside the buildings. I have early voted before at one location and can tell the wait is about 45-60 minutes.

I will vote on Friday when I am back from my trip and have the leisure time to wait in line.

Ages at first two locations skewed older. This location just watched at least a dozen 18-21s walk out as a laughing high-fiving group. It was adorable and heart warming.

.

Ten minutes max. Most times it's under 2 minutes.

Fuck these backwards anti-Democratic states.

I have never had unreasonable or long lines for either early voting or on election day. Lots of precincts and plenty of machines. They even added an early voting location extra convenient for me this time.

I have to give kudos to our supervisor of elections. She has done an excellent job with allocation of resources and voter education/information.

I think what I saw today was unprecedented motivation to vote. Hmmmm.... wonder why that would be. 😊

When you consider the conservative tilt of the county and you mentioned you saw a lot of the people "skewed older." High voter turnout is great but not in a conservative county with a lot of older people voting. Hopefully the Dems like yourself are turning out strong there. Not that concerned about cheating, but more with regards to turnout. The Democrats own worst enemy is often our voters not turning out, especially during mid-terms.

While it's red here, it is not insurmountably so. Active Dems skew elderly as well. I don't think what I was seeing today was a Republican surge by any stretch.

Hopefully you can vote ASAP without waiting too long. Have a good trip but make sure to vote.
