It never ceases to amaze me how even on this progressive site, people assume they know a damned thing about you from almost no information.

I didn't say what she did was OK.

Neither did I say it should be tolerated.

What I did say is that if she's just socially colassally stupid, the public embarrassment ought to be enough....i.e., a teaching moment.

There simply has to be room in this country for second chances for folks who just made a dumb mistake.

All these pictures of others who are clearly racist do nothing to dismiss the argument that we ought to have room for a little social embarrassment helping someone understand what's appropriate and what's not.
