Cannabis may now be legal for adults in Canada, but that doesn't mean that anyone can take weed ditched at Toronto's Pearson Airport.
Although adult use and possession of marijuana became legal throughout Canada last week, transportation remains illegal across country borders. That reason is why airports like Pearson have set up amnesty bins where travelers can ditch any marijuana products or related accessories before boarding.
One particular image of these bins has created quite a stir on Reddit this morning, as an observant Twitter user found that one of these bins was merely an open trash bin with no lid.

When one user went so far as to call the drop a 'free weed bin,' Greater Toronto Airport Authority spokesperson Robin Smith told Gizmodo:
"'Free weed' is resoundingly incorrect, and I think that's putting it mildly. Once something goes into the container, it doesn't come out."
Smith went on to point out that the current bins are merely a temporary measure until the airport installs more secure boxes.
