If It Walks Like A Duck And Quacks Like A Duck It Is Obviously A Horse.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt. It is an everyday occurrence for some. And it is getting wilfully worse now across much of the West. Trump and Brexit to name two. Most of us see a duck and know it is a duck, we may disagree on what kind of a duck however we accept that it is indeed a duck, but for some the idea of accepting it is a duck is so contrary to their world viewpoint they will argue till the cows come home that the duck is not a duck, no siree. It might look like a duck, it might quack like a duck, but hell no. That duck is actually a horse.

Shall we examine the evidence?

Did you know that a higher proportion of white Americans believe they have touched a ghost than those who believe black people experience discrimination? (Pew: August 2009 and May 2013).

Of course, the statistics speak for themselves and they are not pretty.

Black sounding names are 50 percent less likely to be called back by those reviewing job applications. Black people are charged roughly $700 more when buying cars. Black drivers are twice as likely to get pulled over. Black clients are shown 17.7 percent fewer houses for sale. Black people are much more likely to be arrested for marijuana use. Black people are incarcerated at nearly six times the rate of white people (to be fair this is from 2015 – probably much worse now!)

Just listen to that duck quacking but conservatives say neigh!

You know they have it bad when Colin Powell must call them out while Obama was still President:

There’s also a dark — a dark vein of intolerance in some parts of the party. What do I mean by that? ......When I see a former governor say that the President is “shuckin’ and jivin’,” that’s racial era slave term. When I see another former governor after the president’s first debate where he didn’t do very well, says that the president was lazy. He didn’t say he was slow. He was tired. He didn’t do well. He said he was lazy. Now, it may not mean anything to most Americans, but to those of us who are African Americans, the second word is shiftless and then there’s a third word that goes along with that.

And this is before Trump arrived and tripled, quadrupled, multiplied by 100 the acceptance of far-right racist bollocks….If it looks like a Nazi it must be a very fine person…….

Lots of ponies sure are galloping around that paddock. Neigh!

I was going to look at Evolution, Gay Rights and Reproductive Justice as part of this article, but I fear the word count would start to get silly. Needless to say however, evolution is real, abortions do not cause cancer and the sky is not falling because the gay. The duck is quacking, but as we all know, conservatives as is their want, are neighing very loudly indeed.

Hey Ho (or should that be quack?) to the Neigh!
