I known someone on here said it better, re: Whataboutisms,

I just countered an AH California Repub politician "friend" who was equating the pipe bombs to Waters, Feinstein, and others call for protest.

"I guess the real question is would a politician rather be protested vocally or be handed a pipe bomb. I'm willing to bet they'd choose listening to their constituents protest. Stop with the whataboutisms. It's not the same."

I thought I had heard a better way to say that, but couldn't find it.
