Do bullet holes count?
I have posted about this incident twice lately, but apparently it isn't getting any notice here on DU.
Someone in our red town, red county, stole one of our Stacey Abrams signs, shot it full of bullet holes and displayed it upside down in their yard. The chair of our county Democratic committee went to the police, but they said there was nothing they could do as the the homeowner could say that someone gave the sign to them. We have photos. My opinion was that this is a hate incident and we need to inform the SPLC, the Democratic Party of Georgia, and the Stacey Abrams campaign. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?
UPDATE: The incident has been reported to the SPLC. The sign has been removed. My guess is that the city police paid a "courtesy call" to the homeowners to let them know that someone had noticed their "efforts."

Most companies these days are scared shitless of employees with violent tendencies. Far too large a record in the US of disgruntled employees shooting up businesses.
I personally would not trust an employee with that sort of mindset. Free speech can have consequences.

This is what remains of a 4x8 sign for Vangie Williams, Democrat, who is challenging incumbent Republican Rob Wittman in Virginia's 1st Congressional District.
Wittman has been in office 10 years and is re-elected by 60-40 every election.
Vangie is an African-American woman who is campaigning on a shoestring while Wittman has over $1 million in the bank, thanks to donations from defense contractors.
Democrats and Indivisible throughout VA-01 have been canvassing and phone banking. We are getting reports that Vangie may carry two of the most populous counties in the district -- my small county has only 2% of the district's population
