not sure where to post this so I'll put it here
Hi everyone,
We've heard stories of PEG and community media producers getting harassed at town meetings and other contentious public events, we've seen nearly 90 people have been arrested while trying to report on protests in the United States, and many others have faced abuse, harassment and press suppression from local authorities.
I wanted to be sure you heard about these two live web events on press rights and journalist safety - the webcasts will be focused on tools, resources and laws related to the RNC and DNC, but will broadly useful.
The International News Safety Institute, Free Press and the Harvard Digital Media Law Project are hosting the two events on Thurs., Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. and Thurs., Aug. 23, at 8 p.m. They will be informative and highly participatory, so please join

We are running a bit short on time so I'd really appreciate it if you could share this via email, Twitter, Facebook or whatever networks you can. These webinars will but unique in that they will be centered around personal stories from journalists who have been arrested or been covering protests on the front lines.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
