Over 13,000 people donated. Then the organizers found out that "because of judicial ethics restraints, Justice Kavanaugh and his family cannot accept or direct the funds."

(10,624 posts)That's $600,000 they could have spent on the election, on legitimate charities, or just on themselves and their families.
Instead, they decided to give their hard-earned money to some rich, well-connected, asshole who doesn't need it.
Looks like the money is going to actually go to various Catholic charities instead. Hope they use it well.

Much of the conservative "information" network is actually just a collection of grifters who are all working together to fleece the same flock.
Whether it's political donations, gold coins, fake boner pills, bullshit charities, bullshit evangelism, Amway, idiotic self-help books, get rich quick schemes, for-profit "universities", or urgent appeals for money to help poor bakers who don't want to bake cakes for gay people, the donors are actually the victims. I guess most of them kind of deserve it.

(5,073 posts)Though very disappointed that so many people were willing to give to him. Dr. Ford's accounts were close to $1 million, but still. 13,000 believed Brett enough to give him an average of almost $50 each. I'm just glad he doesn't get it.
