Said there was quite a line, even with the rain. A very multicultural group, as well--within the people in line around him, there were two Muslim women in traditional dress, Asian, black, white, Hispanic...processing went smoothly and well. Made him feel proud and hopeful.
(And before you ask, I voted absentee and it has been accepted)

(2,220 posts)I voted the first day, and there was a small but steady line. Hubster voted last Saturday and stood in line about 30 minutes. The poll worker said 2,200 people had been through the day before and that day was shaping up to be an even bigger turnout.

(48,955 posts)granted we are a college town - so not representative of the whole state. It was also diverse from an age perspective.
Compare that to early voting in late Oct 2016 - much more crowded this time, and then I was the youngest person voting (in my early 50s). I asked the poll workers if the size of the crowd was unusual or representative of what they had been seeing. She indicated it was representative.

(48,955 posts)(not going to attempt to spell it) along with a Gyro. They do have a way with their food descriptions.
Best gyros I've had anywhere. Just found out we've been offered tix for a b-ball game in a few weeks. Bringing our son back to the place of his birth for the first time since he was less than two years old. Mrs Loblaw and I will definitely be getting a gyro, fries and spanokopita. Eleven years is too far between. I'm not going to ask but I'd bet we have some common acquaintances, especially if you've been involved in politics on the local level.

(48,955 posts)But the city is small - so good chances we do have common acquaintances. Let's just assume it. And yes - Opah!
I have no doubt your son will enjoy the experience of IU bball in Assembly Hall. Enjoy (and the meal at the Trojan Horse). Maybe (its still a long shot, but there is a lot of energy so I think it is possible) we will have a new democratic congresswoman by then.

(2,225 posts)The hubs and I were discussing early voting -we are in Fairfield County-but we are going to go and vote on Election Day. Glad your husband had a good experience! Have to say I will certainly not miss the seemingly unending nasty political ads that are running here in the C-bus area. And my husband surely wont miss my yelling at the tv every time one airs! Lol!

(42,288 posts)He thinks the multicultural aspect was something they didn't approve of (f@$# them). Eldest Child sent me a text today saying it took 45 minutes in line to vote and the only ones offering voting guides were Democrats (outside the 100 foot mandated line, I hasten to add)
Go blue wave!!
Voted absentee. accepted per ballotchex. (I think that's what its called).
