If the Democrats win, and I hope that they do, I am afraid of the violence that will follow. It is already happening and she is afraid it will escalate, which it will.
She is a Democrat and always has been. Very aware what has been happening and what will happen in the near future.
She has lived 92 years and this is the first election she has ever feared the outcome.
Welcome to trump world and beware the crazies.

(51,615 posts)The fucking moron has stoked anger and violence in his base. They were already angry racists but now they feel free to be so in public and in full view of everyone. They will not be calmed down for a long time and will use any lame ass excuse to show it. Even if they win they will be violent.

(51,615 posts)You would think losers are used to losing but as Steve Schmidt put it they see themselves as "virtuous victims". White dudes in their 50s don't want to lose the life they feel is their birthright where they are King of the Hill. They can't get over it and grow up and face reality...the world is becoming more brown and a global economy is here to stay.

(3,335 posts)should be vigilant. Yes there's always the lone wolf, like the looney that attacked the Jewish Synagogue. Most of the trouble will come from young punks who get caught up in the moment and are just trying to make trouble.

She is sitll much loved.

(4,033 posts)The mention of Adlai, brings a smile to my lips. He was the first person my 88 year old mother ever voted for. She was 21 in 1951 & in '52 voted for Adlai. She speaks of that first presidential vote, quite often.

(6,831 posts)when he said that if certain (long-serving) republicans do not get re-elected, the vote may need to be challenged.
My biggest fear was that he might use violence to declare martial law before the election as a way to disrupt the vote. I'd put nothing past this repulsive thug.

(6,994 posts)when the Democrats win and I expect it will be a huge win. Trump will declare that the election was rigged and that many questionable vote counts tally were wrong. Then of course Trumps Deplorable supporters will fall in line with Hannity and all of Fox news.
I will say this ..I live in a solid Red district. Years ago I would put up yard signs and on occasion those signs would get demolished..This election cycle I did not have any up in our yard for fear of possibly more than just yard signs being demolished..
