Josh Marshall: Getting Ugly Fast

Things are getting ugly fast in Florida. Rick Scott, clearly thinking he’s going to fall behind in the vote count and lose his campaign for Senate, is both filing lawsuits to stop the vote counting in South Florida and using his police powers as governor to do so. As in Georgia, having the candidate oversee the election has real shortcomings.

Scott actually said this …

“Late Tuesday night our win was projected about 57,000 votes. By Wednesday morning that lead dropped to 38,000 votes. By Wednesday evening, it was around 30,000 votes. This morning, it was around 21,000. Now, it is 15,000,.”

November 6: General Election Day
Preliminary Election Night Returns are due no later than 7:30 p.m. in the respective county’s time zone on General Election night and in 45-minute increments thereafter until all results (except provisional and overseas vote-by-mail ballots) are completely reported. (Section 102.141, Florida Statutes).
Note: Pursuant to Section 101.048, Florida Statutes, 5:00 p.m., November 8 is the deadline for persons voting a provisional ballot to provide evidence of eligibility to Supervisors of Elections.

November 10
First Unofficial Returns are due from the county canvassing boards no later than noon on Saturday, November 10. The Secretary of State and Division of Elections will subsequently determine if the returns for any federal, state, or multicounty races or issues on the ballot meet the statutory threshold requiring a machine
recount. (Section 102.141, Florida Statutes)

In November 2003, Snipes was appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to replace Supervisor Miriam Oliphant, who he removed from office for incompetence.

What the talking heads on Fox/CNN/MSNBC/etc say about election results are largely them blathering to make themselves look knowledgeable and important: it's what the actual votes are that count.

And it is happening in quite a few places in the country.. starting with the dictator wanna be in DC.

And anybody not paying attention will have no idea what is happening,. In fact they won't even know after it is accomplished.. unless....
