Because the issue, of whether or not Matt Whitaker is legitimate, is still up in the air.
Rosenstein and Mueller have to maintain their positions until the issue is settled, in my opinion.
If the trump were to object, he would probably get his "new" Attorney General to close the case on Don Jr, by revoking the actions of Rosenstein and Mueller without his consent?
They could let him know at noon today.
Then ask that the Senate approve the appointment of Matt Whitaker as soon as possible?
But do not withdraw the indictment of Don Jr, even if it were possible?
Then go to a three-court panel of judges if there are any disagreements with the law.

(1,474 posts)I do not know what is about to happen, but it will be monumental. Underestimating Mueller is the folly of a fool. trump and steroid Matt are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. And trump is panicked and desperate. Popcorn anyone?

(111,110 posts)Mueller and Rosenstein would argue that he does not. The decision was sealed before Mr Whitaker was appointed.
Also, there are still questions about the legitimacy of Mr Whitaker. They cannot stop what is already in the pipeline.
Go with it!

(4 posts)Mueller has a plan. He expected this. He will follow that plan. It may mean DonJr. is indicted today or it may not. I trust that he's 5 or 6 steps ahead of Trump.

(11,885 posts)along with the NY district indicting a slew of them too today, then follow up with more next Monday morning. Then indict trump. Instead of dragging ti out just get it done now and over with. The longer it goes on the more loopholes, and abuse of power he uses to stop it .
