Accused 'MAGA bomber' Cesar Sayoc slapped with 30-count indictment

The unhinged Florida man accused of mailing pipe bombs to President Trump’s political enemies was slapped with a new 30-count indictment Friday that potentially carries a life sentence.

The 25-page indictment in Manhattan Federal Court does not include new details about the allegations against Sayoc, but does hit him with an array of new charges tied to 16 improvised explosive devices prosecutors say he mailed to prominent Democrats like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, ex-Vice President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama.

Sayoc was ordered held without bail during a brief hearing on Tuesday. Among the charges he faces are use of a weapon of mass destruction, interstate transportation of explosives and threatening interstate communications.

The 56-year-old was nicknamed “the MAGA bomber” after his arrest last month in southern Florida. He’d been living in a van covered in stickers of Trump and images of the President’s enemies with crosshairs over their faces.
