We are less than 100 miles south of Paradise. The smoke was so thick today that the sky was grayish orange, and the sun looked like a tiny bright orange ball. It's so smoky it's hard to breathe. I've been coughing from the smoke. The smell of smoke is everywhere, even inside the house.

The horrors the people of Paradise have gone through and will yet experience are hard to imagine, but I am reminded of them every time I look outside.
