What options do Democrats have in dealing with the demagogue?

They could try to ignore him? That would probably not be wise.

They could try working with him? They could also sell their souls.

They could continue to do nothing and let the country continue to slide into desperation? The present economy is only a temporary illusion.

They could begin passing bills and make the trump veto them or have them die in the Senate?

They could impeach him in the House and try to persuade Republicans in the Senate to go along? That would likely be a futile effort?

They could float along, hoping nothing disastrous happens, until the next election in 2020, and try to defeat the trump and his cult?

There does not seem to be any favorable options?

How should the Democrats handle this situation?

Stand up for principles when needed and fight him when necessary. But work with him if he is willing to agree to an acceptable deal.

EVen if he tells the Dems they have al deal with them, some hater will get to him and he'll change his mind and vilify the agreement at the last minute. I really don't think he will agree to anything, he wouldn't agree with either the repugs or the Dems on Immigration and he won't now either. I really don't think anything at all will get done for the next 2 years, but dems should have votes often on protecting pre-existing conditions, raising the min. wage, infrastructure, raising SS taxes on rich to stabilize the program for the future, all things that would help the American people but that repugs will not go along with. Show the people just who repugs really are, party of the KKK, Nazis, White Nationalists & other racial haters & rich.

The Democratic base wants blood, but that just makes everything about Trump, which is exactly were he wants it to be. Then he can complain that Democrats just want his blood (true) and that therefore they are not working on policy (also true).

So, better to focus on getting business done, and make either pass legislation Democrats want or work out a deal.

Pass bills that help American People. Even if they die in Senate or are vetoed, demonstrate that Democrats represent America. Repugs are beyond being shamed, but still putting legislative pressure on them will expose their corrupt governance to the American People.

Use the power of subpoena to expose corruption. Have public hearings. All Americans must be made aware of gop corruption.

Having just one branch of the government will not allow legislation to be successfully implemented unless the gop has a come to Jesus epiphany. It will not happen.

Impeachment should not be attempted until after Mueller Report is made public and absorbed by the electorate. Mueller may also expose Pence's complicity. Probably just a pipe-dream, but both Pence and trump may eventually go down. But a rush to force impeachment would be a mistake. Above all, protect Mueller and ensure his report goes public.

...that clearly defines the Democratic and Republican positions on the issues.

Make them put their votes where their mouths are...

Build up a case against them and the Trump before the next election by showing the American people exactly who they are working for.
