Can ownership of the House stop the rot of fascism from destroying us?

A madman is president. The senate is owned by the madman. The Supreme Court is okay with it.

An improbable "perfect storm" has occurred. And it has fucked us for, perhaps, many decades to come.

Yes, we won the House. And we also won the Senate, but it was stolen from us in so many places.

But at this time, we have no say regarding the Presidency, the Senate, or the supreme Court.

And those three entities are fucking us, and fucking up America, every single day.

We can be a thorn in the side of those who currently "own" America. But we can't make changes.

So here's the bottom line and also, my question. What do we do for the next four years? Can ownership of the House stop the fascism that is slowly creeping into and across America? Is our control of one of the levers of power enough to save us from the horrible darkness that has descended on out country?

Jeeze, that's about all I know.

Fascism is not 'slowly creeping,'
Next 4 years? Maybe WHAT next 4 years?

When does he have the media for good?
When does he have the military?

I'm just throwing out questions because I agree with you...

Too many people here do not see what is really happening, including me. Most democrat politicians I think don;t know or will not admit what is happening And 'god' knows the American populace to a great degree doesn;t know.

Taking the House back is just one stop. We have to continue protesting, organizing, reaching out, voting and winning. Most importantly, we reclaim the banner of patriotism and it's symbols from those with a narrow view America. This is a long term battle for America's soul.

But control of the House has stopped the reckless, irresponsible, and wrongheaded Trump/GOP agenda.

Social Security, Medicare, and the ACA are safe for now – at least with regard to the political process – and there’ll be no wall of fear, bigotry, and hate.

But the judiciary is lost, at least for the next 40 years, and will be useless to the people to fight the neo-fascist right in the courts.

We need to continue to fight against rightist authoritarianism through the political process, to take control of the Senate and place a Democrat in the WH come 2021.

And most importantly, start taking control of state governments to repeal Republican hate legislation and to prevent such legislation from being enacted.

and presidency in 2020.. We fought back to almost even on the governorships.. that huge. The country is bluer after the midterms, we need to build on that in 2020.
