Why Trump not honoring our soldiers today irks me

From the Owen Enterprise in Owen, Clark Clark County, Wisconsin Aug 7th 1918

Earl Baker, son of Mrs. G. S. Radley, residing seven miles south of this city, who enlisted in the U. S. Army at Minneapolis shortly after the declaration of war by our country, was killed in action on Thursday, Aug. 8, 1918* according to telegraphic reports received by his mother from the War Department on Wednesday evening.

Letters from the young man received by his mother indicated that he was in action with French and American troops at Soissons, and it is said that he has gone over the top many times.

Earl Baker enlisted in the infantry and after a short training here was transported to France, where he received additional training under the French army officers. Late letters from him give the idea that he was about to be promoted to the ranking of Corporal.

(date is actually 22 Jul 1918)

The above is an article on my great granduncle, Earl Eugene Baker, who died for his country at age 25 in WWI. His sister Lillie was my great grandmother. Earl went willingly, bravely. Articles like this were common in newspapers all over the US in 1917 and 1918, as thousands of Americans died in that gruesome war. Mothers, fathers, siblings, wives lost their loved-ones and were left miserable. I'm sure many here had relatives who went into that hell, some of whom never saw their native Wisconsin, or New York or Tennessee again.

And Donald Trump couldn't be bothered. There seems to be no end to his selfishness and hatefulness. The late Earl Eugene Baker, 25, of Clark County, Wisconsin certainly deserved Trump's remembrance today, as did his many comrades.

and if he could rise from the grave he'd spit in the face of the republican Draft-dodger-in-Chief for his disgraceful dishonoring of those who gave the last full measure of devotion so Dirty Donny could grow up to be a casino hustler, kremlin kissass, sexual predator, and a degenerate republican family values role model.
