While you fight over 2020, I'm gearing up for 2019

1. Kenucky Governor
2. Louisiana Governor.
3. Virginia legislature (with a redrawn House map).
4. San Francisco Mayor (full term) and District Attorney (vacant)
5. Local and special elections all year around the country.

So shape up and get ready.

Not sure what you mean. The OP's point is an excellent one. We need to contend in these very important state and local elections, not letting the grand prize of Trump take us away from other things that have lasting consequences.

Louisiana gov?

We won’t get within 50 pts of the GOP nominee. I’m not sure the OP has ever set foot in La. or Kentucky. But hey, have at it.

That has been done to limit turnout and control the vote. They have been doing that all my life.

i have a vague recollection that that happened when they made the elections non-partisan, but that was a little before i moved here.
iirc, that was when they split them off from the general election schedule.

Getting rid of Blevins in Kentucky, reelecting Edwards in Louisiana and taking rock solid control of the Virginia Legistlature would be big accomplishments.
