Florida Recount Finally Wraps Up, Al Gore Declared President

Link

FLORIDA—As Florida finally wrapped up its contentious recount of the votes tallied in the recent midterm elections, a winner was finally declared: Al Gore is now the president of the United States.

The recount process at long last found the "missing votes" that would have handed Gore the presidency back in 2000, making him the official president of the country.

ago until I read it yesterday. I'm not suggesting a thing about the suicide. No conspiracy theory. Just odd how her place in history has sort of faded away. She was probably the most temporarily influential and forgettable figure in determining the Bush presidencies, which ultimately led to the quagmire we have been in ever since in the Middle East. Article stated she was now married to a wealthy Republican donor in Texas. Just a footnote to history.

She had one huge impact: until Harris, no one in mainstream America realized the true power a Secretary of State at the state level has.

She was the case study on how SoS's can literally rig elections and get away with it.

In Florida it doesn't help that the Dems kept electing an utterly incompetent elections supervisor in Brenda Snipes (despite years of incompetence she keeps getting elected, and the Republicans are all too happy by that).

She is responsible for a lot of the problems going on.

You're right on topic!

Interesting additional information about her deceased husband and current husband.
