WooHoo.

(31,261 posts)If Sinema gains again on Sunday and Monday, there is no way McSally catch her. But count all the vote anyway.

(31,261 posts)The race is playing out as I expected. The late vote are leaning more blue. That is because minority voters seem to prefer voting late, including in person and mailin or handin on Election Day.

BUT, for some reason, I have an irrational fear of my vote not counting if I mail it in (like, maybe it gets shoved in a pile of absentee votes that end up being neglected in a runaway race; again, I know, it's an irrational fear based on almost nothing).
So, every Election Day, I show up to my polling place and drop off my sealed ballot in the little "Early Ballot" box.
I was hoping there were more like me, and it sure seems like there was!

(23,456 posts)And I like to do it near election day. Somehow, I get a sense of civic participation from that.

(25,490 posts)I always feel the phone numbers in VAN are wrong. I also follow some of the texts in a FB Group and it does seem like they get alot of wrong numbers. I did some phonebanking last Sunday and Monday and got a lot of, "That person doesn't live here", if they answered.
I'm glad you got through to voters!!

(59,092 posts)I ran into a lot of people who forgot to fill out their ballots.

(19,965 posts)"Goddamn leave me alone" to "Thanks for calling" to people just not answering ? I know my brother in Florida was plagued by phone calls, and usually ignore the call if he doesn't recognise the number.

(31,261 posts)We must act like democrats, even when we want this thing over with in Sinema's favor.

(54,428 posts)In elections that are fairly held, they lose.
It may not always be "that simple," but it is rarely more complicated, either.

(5,487 posts)But what struck me is McSallys campaign.
Not a SINGLE positive ad by her (or the super PACs on her side) on the tee vee during the entire campaign.
EVERYTHING from McSally was NEGATIVE. Trying to paint Krysten as some sort of OH MY GOD!!! LIBERAL!! WACKO!!
( insert RW insult here _____________ )
McSally ran one shitty campaign. Period. She had NOTHING POSITIVE to offer the voters of Arizona. Happy AS SHIT she lost!!!

(4,192 posts)Shows how little they actually care about picking good representation. Hell, the whole tea party surge in 2010 revealed that. And then they vote for a POS the likes of tRump. Safe to say they are a lost cause.
Good luck, Arizona! Let's hope congratulations are in order very soon.

(42,287 posts)Not so much for our side because we are not driven by fear. Same reason 45 succeeds with his hate-fests; his base is fear-based, not reality based.
