(7,399 posts)Not knocking other's opinions, I just think there can always be a place for someone who is intelligent, articulate and willing to fight for justice. We will have many good choices, but this man should not be dismissed. I think when everything plays out we will have a great chance in 2020.

(12,448 posts)Look at what's in the White House now, a reality show clown. All bluster, no substance.

(56,828 posts)Nixon was very experienced when he ran against JFK having served for 8 years as VP under the popular Eisenhower. JFK won.
Clinton ran against the far more experienced George HW Bush and then the far more experienced Bob Dole
Obama ran against the far more experienced John McCain in 2008 and trounced him. Then, had a closer race against Romney, who had less experience.

(12,448 posts)Maybe not as many years as the people they were running against, but they were hardly political neophytes. JFK was a Representative and U.S. Senator, Obama was in the Illinois Senate and the U.S. Senate, Clinton served as Arkansas AG and Governor. Big difference from the thing in the White House now.

(1,294 posts)If Trump isn't pardoned like Nixon, and he's voted out in 2020, there will be a lot of criminal charges that could be and should be pursued once he's out of office. I guess Schiff wouldn't have to be a part of that, but he could play a key role. Also, I'd rather see all of his attentions focused on the House Intelligence Committee over the next two years rather than being distracted by running for President.

(1,433 posts)is my choice for Presidential candidate in 2020.
Time to throw "charisma out" the window. Trump has "Charisma" by the evil ton. We need an Adam Schiff who knows the facts, knows government and can express himself. Someone we can be proud of.

(58,785 posts)not just for two short terms in the presidency. After all, Congress holds the national purse and passes the legislation that lives on long after presidents are gone.

(650 posts)No ambiguity, no holding back because history is watching us and love of country dictate it.
The great authors of the constitution among their stated reasons for drafting it was " to ensure domestic tranquility"
The current president is violating the letter as well the spirit and intentions of the drafters of the constitution.
far from ensuring domestic tranquility, he is spreading hate and division among the American people and endangering our republic
and its future.

(14,494 posts)Those sins also apply to the entire Republican Party and their billionaire-funded right-wing news media....

(6,916 posts)Point of order-
Rightwing billionaires FUND Republicans and fund insane rightwing thinktanks and foundations (Searle, Bradley, Olin, Koch, ALEC, SPN, Jud W, Prager U, Cit U, Federalist Society, etc).
Rightwing billionaires largely OWN the rightwing propaganda media much of it is profitable because the GOP base is authoritarian and loves lies. Fox, WSJ, NY Post owned by Murdoch. Sinclair owned by a crazy rightwinger. Wash Ex owned by Anschutz. Free Beacon. Etc.
The media exceptions are Breitbart (funded by Mercer) the Federalist (who knows), NRATV (gun CEOs). Those orgs are funded by billionaires and would lose money otherwise.
