(160,630 posts)As good as the photo is, it doesn't really show how HARD the rain was coming down, or how he ran up the stairs to the platform, all surfaces with standing water on them, and stood well above the crowd, and it really did look as if he stood a good chance of getting hit by lightning.
My estimation of him increased even more as he braved that kind of risk, and getting soaked to the bone just to keep his supporters from having made that trip for nothing.

Not a joke: In the 80's I heard Ron or Michael (or both) who said their dad used Brill Creme to keep his hair in place.
