I like him and I'm glad that he won, and I really do get that you have to sometimes move right to get elected in a red area, but he already won. Why go on Fox News? No reason to mingle with the enemy, nor put it that way. Fox is poison. In spite if this though, I think he'll be a good Congressman that keeps getting re-elected for years to come.

(6,139 posts)he won in fricking staten island, change doesnt happen overnight; let him earn the trust of repub voters in that district and then educate them on issues.
Polybius
(15,510 posts)But he could have just said no, not "absolutely not" in the enemy's territory (Fox).

(15,543 posts)and figures out what's happening (more or less). If Pelosi wins the Speaker job, as seems likely, he will begin his tenure in Congress with less sway to represent the interests of his district. Shoot first and aim later has always been a stupid move.

(46,166 posts)He doesn't need to vote for Pelosi as Speaker. But if he wants to move his agenda forward he'll need The Nancy because she *will* be Speaker.

(53,924 posts)that if Pelosi is anathema to repugs it means she's doing a good job.

(297,812 posts)members in her corner.. they know what she's capable of.. not the newbies who had to disown her to get elected. She doesn't give a rip.
And, I agree with you Polybius.. he probably went on foxscrews 'cause that's where a lot of his constituents get their "news". Amirite?

(4,611 posts)And he can say whatever he needs to in order to keep his district behind him.
Besides, DU is way out of the mainstream when it comes to support for Pelosi (and I say that as someone who thinks she was a very effective Speaker).
