Trump Ham-Handedly Tries To Interfere In GOP Leadership Battle

By Kate Riga

President Donald Trump, supposed master dealmaker, is trying to hammer out an agreement between majority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), both of whom are jockeying for the minority leadership mantle at Wednesday’s vote.

According to a Wednesday Politico report, Trump wants the two to strike a deal, possibly that would seat Jordan, an ardent Trump defender, as lead Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, a soon-to-be Democratic led body that Trump fears will aggressively investigate him.

Unfortunately for Trump, McCarthy lacks the power to unilaterally stuff Jordan into the seat and enjoy an uncontested leadership run. That authority reportedly lies with the Republican Steering Committee which is comprised of members who don’t particularly like Jordan or his far-right positions.

The minority leadership vote is set for Wednesday afternoon, when McCarthy is expected to win despite Jordan’s attempts to derail him.

No power, no coat tails, no eloquence to persuade, nothing to trade. People are starting to pass on buying his snake oil.

Republicans covered up a lot of things in the last two years, like the accusations against Jordan, others. Now that Democrats control the House things could change, I sure hope so. People like Jordan should not be in public office as far as I am concerned.

Despite what Trump said in his press conference, his endorsement was the kiss of death for 75% of the candidates he backed. Party leaders know exactly what Trump meant for them last week. Over the next 6 months they're going to assess 2020 and formulate a plan, what that plan is will determine if Trump gets removed from office or not. If they decide to cut Trump loose and run against him to try not to be associated with his corruption there will be fireworks.

Trump absolutely crushed the GOP last week.

"My Kevin" failed to win Hair Furor's black heart with all those red StarBursts because Jungle Jim is better at defending gropers.

So sad for our favorite DickTraitor.
