Rudy Giuliani sent a tweet with what ACCIDENTLY turned out to be a usable website-URL. Except that it pointed nowhere, because a website of this name didn't exist.
Then, the same day, somebody grabbed that domain and set up a website bashing Trump.
So NOW Rudy's tweet accidently links to an existing website that was designed to match the URL he accidently tweeted in the first place.
Now, Rudy claims that his tweet was hacked.

He could just delete and repost the tweet instead of showing that he's a fool, but thankfulky we are dealing with Clown Shoe Dictators.

(3,433 posts)Domain squatters do it. Pickup an expired link or repurpose a link typo. It's a hack.
In this case they hacked his tweet.
It's not the hack Rudy trys to suggest. Hes accidentally right that it's a hack.

(7,254 posts)If you read Giuliani's rantings, he's banging on about Twitter allowing "someone to invade my text with a disgusting anti-President message." He even objects because it didn't happen to a later typo of his - "The same thing-period no space-occurred later and it didnt happen" - so he obviously has no idea what or how it was done.
He's accusing Twitter of deliberately intervening in the first case. Twitter didn't "allow" anything. As most of us who aren't Trump's cybersecurity adviser will understand, if a message presents what Twitter's software interprets as a valid URL, it'll make it clickable - completely automated.
I guess they could re-program their back end to make exceptions for future Guiliani sloppiness, but I can't see it happening.
