I'm sure I left plenty out, but feel free to add to the list. What I'm getting at here is that Republicans don't give seem to give a damn about anyone or anything but themselves and their own well-being. And fuck everyone else. It seems that they don't even care about the planet that they will leave to their own children and grandchildren. In short, there's something really fucked up in the minds of those who choose to be Republicans.

(6,535 posts)In some cases, they care very much...it's just that they are against these things.
One of my uncles, for instance, cares very strongly about LGBT rights...he believes that these people are "against God," and should have no rights. Matter of fact, if there was a policy of exterminating homosexuals, I believe he would support it strongly.
Same with universal healthcare, education, and a living wage...to hear him talk, he cares very strongly about these things, and considers them all to be evil and communistic.
So, in his case at least, it's not only a matter of self-interest being his only guiding principle--he actively opposes human rights and equality based on his religious beliefs (I guess...). In fact, sometimes he seems to get so riled up, his own self-interest takes a back seat to his hatred of "others."
