Minnesota Mulls Mail-Only Ballots for 2020 Primary

December 7, 2018 at 7:31 am EST By Taegan Goddard

“Minnesota officials are considering mail-only ballots for the state’s 2020 presidential primary, which would be a dramatic change from the state’s often chaotic and time-consuming party caucuses,” the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

“Beginning in 2020, Minnesota will switch to a more straightforward primary system that allows voters to cast ballots for their preferred choice for president rather than jam into classrooms and community centers for their party caucuses. Most other states use a primary system, but Minnesota has done so only a handful of times.”

I love it. This would be the opposite of the caucus Yosemito Dec 2018 #2
Caucuses need to go, but there should be an in-person option. Garrett78 Dec 2018 #3

Too easy to mess with. Me personally, I'd rather vote in person at my precinct...

As Boss Tweed said in the movie "The Gangs of New York":

Remember the first rule of politics. The ballots don't make the results, the counters make the results. Keep counting!!.

The goal should be to boost turnout. I like voting by mail, but not everyone does, and some will inevitably miss the deadline.
