Are Demcrats' lack of vociferous outrage a real lack or strategic?

I don't know the answer but can surely make a case that it could be a very good strategy.

First, with the daily, sometimes (literally) hourly reasons for outrage from this administration, the outrage would soon enough become little more than noise. Then white noise. Then numbing. Then meaningless.

Next, the Dems will very soon have the ability to investigate, subpoena, and even issue contempt citations. If this were preceded by OUTRAGE, it would lose at least a degree of seriousness. Far better, it would seem, to let the results and testimony tell their own tales.

Further, right now, Democrats have no power to do a damned thing, so why caterwaul? Kind of akin to farting in a windstorm.

Personally, I see no need for concerted outrage from elected Dems. While I tend to be outraged every day all day, I have zero impact on a damned thing that matters. I also think it is fine for a Dem here or a Dem there displaying targeted outrage.

when everything is burning to the ground around us, then we may come across as lacking the passion that needs to be on display.

I think that as a society, due to all the technology and instantaneous media, measured responses may no longer resonate.

If the general public isn't outraged, they obviously haven't been paying attention. Their attention needs to be drawn to that fact, in a way that they can grasp.

Those of us who ARE paying attention are, as you pointed out, drowning in outrage after outrage, much of it designed specifically to keep us off balance, overwhelmed and de-sensitized to all the other crap they are doing to destroy this country.

There is enough TRUTH out there to enrage ALL of us (minus the proud kool-aid drinkers). We don't have to lie or be mean and vindictive to do so (although THEY may feel that the truth IS mean and vindictive). There is plenty of ammunition available, with plenty of documented evidence.

Democratic leaders need to be willing to speak the truth, loudly. They may find that Americans are thirsty for some "in your face" honesty. We want passion in our leaders.

We may very well be special, fragile individual snowflakes, but we can take the unvarnished truth. Snowflakes can bond together to become ice. Taken all together, ice can be very powerful, tough and strong.

We need to show that.

Presentation is everything, and our presentation doesn't have to be shrill. Democratic leaders can use this situation as a profound "teachable" moment, and show WHY ALL Americans should be outraged.

Taking our collective attention span into consideration, it may have to be reduced to bullet points. But done effectively, Americans could realize exactly what has been being done to them.

There are a fair number of calls from some DUers, often the same ones, for our leaders to at least sound more like Republicans.

Let this be the final answer to that : They would, sometimes, if it worked. They would tell themselves to close their eyes and think of Russia. It doesn't -- it turns off and ultimately repels liberal voters.

While liberals watched appalled, most conservatives loved this rant, were proud of Lindsey! A call to rally to the flag.

And this one.
