(14,173 posts)Its just different. On their side the are so afraid of any charges or accusations, especially when they know deep down they don't have a leg to stand on. This is built up by decades of finding out how corrupt and criminal past Republicans have been. They are so freaked out that they've developed this trigger finger to shout back "I know you are but what am I?" before you have even finished your sentence. They are simply too frail now to ever accept reality. Which is why they now are firmly in the 'anyone that says anything bad about Dear Leader is fake news!" camp
On our side we have those that immediately leap to the worst possible conclusion...ie Franken MUST have done more than a silly frat boy photo with fellow comics, or touched a woman's waist while having a picture taken surely! Just like any charges 'trumped' up against Avenatti. Where there's smoke there's fire....run for the hills just in case. If even a Republican operative is behind the smear campaign, it makes no difference, a smear even if denied, means its probably true, or at least it now cannot ever be proven false 100%, and that is enough to tar them forever.
NO, I am not saying it is everyone. But its a big fricken tent.

(124 posts)I will never forget the day a porn star took the mic and told the most powerful man in the world that he was lousy in bed.
It was a day of many different feelings.
