Second in a series. Do not fear impeachment!

If Trump's crimes which include witness tampering, obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and campaign finance violations are as serious as the evidence in the public domain suggest it is is incumbent that the House begin impeachment proceedings. When Robert Mueller issues his report and it includes evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors the rule of law demands Donald Trump be impeached. If the Republicans in the Senate refuse to obey their constitutional oath and fail to convict they will be punished at the ballot box and we will be rewarded for upholding the rule of law.

So far we know:

-Trump fired Jim Comey to impede a lawful investigation
-Trump tried to use the DOJ to punish his political opponents
-Trump paid off a porn star for her quiet to help his political campaign
-Trump lied about having business interests in Russia
-Trump considered bribing Putin with a free condo that was worth $50 million dollars to encourage others to buy in.

He makes Nixon look like a piker.

P.S. Trump's approval rating is at 42%. When the inevitable slowdown or recession arrives his approval rating will sink into the thirties and possibly lower. The backdrop to Richard Nixon's recession was a nasty recession.

All this discussion will be moot because the House will have no choice but to hold impeachment hearings.

except to just go ahead and say "fuck it, there is no rule of law, there is no 'higher authority' than simply whoever has the greatest will to power and is best able to bend the world to their will, using whatever means it takes; America is over" which will probably be taken care of in the Senate.

one way or another. Either he is impeached and removed by the GOP Senate, or the GOP Senates refuses and there is another "blue wave" in the Senate in 2020. This isn't lying about an affair and he isn't a popular President. Its going downhill quick and there will soon be no defense left. He has been accused of crimes by the DOJ, and they have clearly drawn the collusion conspiracy line right to him. More and more will keep coming out; indictments included. At some point in the next three months, GOP will cut its losses.

And yes, as noted above, a recession is coming, likely sooner than later at this point with the tanking DOW and continuing to decline real estate market.

Then the conversation changes.

MSM can’t ignore or normalize these events after Congress puts them on public display.

GOP Senators won’t be able to hide from the facts or ignore them.

By summer there may be enough votes in the Senate to convict.

I think the facts will draw viewers in, and the people will want to know what happened. I think it will come down to how seriously the American people fear money laundering Russian crooks. Unfortunately Americans have become so used to Wall Street crookedness that they might take a “they all do it” attitude.

Someone, Jerry Nader, or someone, has to make the case that this involves worldwide tsunami level corruption ... the pilfering of Russia and the pilfering of the US is all part of a worldwide effort to de-power governments and empower individual billionaires.

If people don’t fear Putin’s influence, with all the corruption that brings, we have more problems than just trump and Putin.

I’m of the opinion you prosecute certain crimes to send a messsge down the line ... if you’re running for office and you are approached by foreign adversaries, call the FBI or else ...

...to validate Mueller's findings?

Since most of Trump's followers will never admit that he is guilty of anything, they may need more evidence to deny?

I posted on another thread how Turtle and Nancy will work out a deal. Essentially, Turtle has to come to Nancy with the votes. An empty impeachment is meaningless. And Nancy has to agree upon a repug VP who she can get confirmed.

Understand--they will potentially be putting innocent people's safety at risk. The white supremacist who are the rabid supporters of 45 are a strange and twisted group who may decide it's now or never to orchestrate a violent uprising. Most of the people in this group are cowards stymied by their own ignorance. However...once the mob mentality gets rolling, it becomes an invitation for cowards to join in. And we all know 45 will do nothing to stop it.

I worry about the next few years. I think as strange as the last two years have been, it's going to get worse.
