He's pretty stupid because it'll be exposed , and he'll be facing time in prison for his actions intentionally done to help obstruct a investigation, and I suspect they know everything he's doing , and has done, and will throw the book at this not to bright lacky put into position by trump for this purpose. He'll be easily convicted for anything he does .

But since we're idly speculating, it's also possible Whitaker has looked at the evidence and realized Trump is guilty. In such a scenario, what would you do?

I'd either resign or keep my distance from the criminal. Whitaker may have realized the dangers he could face as he swirls around the event horizon of the black hole that is Trump. This could explain why he hasn't taken drastic actions to shut down Robert Mueller's investigation.

i don't think many of donnie's cronies are just waking up to the idea that he might actually be guilty.

i think they know damn well that he's guilty.

the question was always can he get away with it.

seeing the mountain of evidence is what would change whitaker's strategy. i can see him taking one look at that and saying, holy crap, there's just no way to stop this train.

My husband thinks he swaggered his way into the job with all these preconceptions - and then got a good hard look at what a mess trump has made of everything, especially in terms of breaking the law. Maybe to the point of real high crimes and misdemeanors. And it's made him swagger no more.

he might've gotten some competent advice that his appointment itself was not constitutional, so he has zero standing to do anything AND a high probability of jail time

If he's getting a paycheck, he's probably been advised not to spend it because it's all going back
