Brexit : Theresa May understood to be delaying key vote

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-46509288

heresa May is to make a statement to MPs at 15:30 GMT amid reports Tuesday's vote on her Brexit deal is being delayed.

That will be followed by a statement from Commons leader Andrea Leadsom - and then a statement from the Brexit secretary on Article 50.

Two cabinet sources have told the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg Tuesday's planned Brexit vote will be delayed.

There is not yet any official confirmation of the move.

Downing Street had been insisting the vote would go ahead, despite Mrs May being widely expected to lose it.

But a third Cabinet source has told the BBC the vote is "definitely off".

They don't have the votes. They're floating the idea of renegotiating with the EU but the EU says no.

The idiots who voted for this in England are to blame. Once again conservatives work hard to destroy their own country.

4. Far-right conservative bloc. Huge difference.

Many of their conservatives are moderate and progressive supporters of democracy. Not their authoritarian hard right. England didn't fall to the fascism sweeping Europe almost 100 years ago, but that doesn't mean the mother of parliaments couldn't be taken over by authoritarian nationalists this century.

5. The question is will the EU just allow the UK to vote itself back in

like nothing happened. Or will the EU extract a price and hold the UK's chestnuts to the fire?

Talk about weakening your country, yes Brexit voters did that in the UK, and evangelicals are trying to do that in the US.

6. That only becomes an issue if they leave and re-apply. In that situation, you can be damn sure they

will have to pay a price, and in my opinion, rightly so for causing such turmoil in the EU. As it currently stands, if they have a 2nd Referendum before March 29th, and vote to Remain, then they stay exactly as they are in terms of membership rights. It's possible that they can ask for an extension of that March deadline in order to conduct a 2bd (and possibly 3rd Referendum), and would likely be agreed to.

The problem is that the UK (and specifically England) have not had that conversation with themselves about just who they are. It's English Nationalism that has caused this, a tinder box lit by selfish assholes like Johnson, Farage and Mogg. And stoked by Putin.

which I'm guessing they will delay somewhat then I would imagine the only way back in is FULL membership.

None of the cake the UK has negotiated over the decades, schengen membership and a shiny new currency to replace the Sterling.
That or EEA membership with all of the above but no say in anything.

The EU has been and still is totally open to the Brits calling it all off and keeping the status quo, the clock is ticking though and the UK needs some actual leadership right now and nobody is putting their hands up.

Not sure what she is on about with this vote delay and renegotiation with Brussles who have clearly said no to any changes already.

8. Yes, they would have to make a new application to join and would be the most junior of members

should their application be successful (which may not be a given considering the price the Spanish and maybe ourselves in Ireland would want to extract). She is delaying the vote because she currently stands to lose so badly, she might not survive as Prime Minister.
