How are you coping with the snow and power cuts. That's a lot of snow.

(801 posts)We got about a foot, which is ridiculous amount for here. Nothing's moving outside, yesterday or today it seems. There are a couple of tracks on the road, but it's slick as heck! Looks like another day home here

(3,276 posts)I'm south of Asheville, about 5 miles north of the SC border. We lost power for 7 hours yesterday, which was not as bad as I was afraid it might be. We had maybe 6-8" of snow, but now it's melting.
So altogether not too bad here.

(113,071 posts)Intermittent power outage. Snow is too damp and icy to enjoy. My old dog and two cats go out to conduct their business then head back in without their usual playtime.
This area tends to shut down when there is snow and ice because the driving is treacherous on the mountain roads.

(9,874 posts)Just a very slight dusting yesterday morning but then rain all day and night and it is completely gone. Just about 50 miles west in the Raleigh-Durham area they got belted but we were lucky. Funny thing is we are getting calls from all over asking how bad it is, but the snow did not cover the whole state. Coastal Carolina got nothing.

(60,015 posts)Now watching light snow gently fall while listening to Christmas music. Yesterday took a long snow walk with our dog, decorated our Xmas tree. About to head out for morning walk.
Got pics on FB.

surprisingly no power loss (so far) at my house...
might venture out today into town proper and see what the conditions are, but most businesses were closed yesterday other than grocery stores
supposedly back to the 60's by Friday ... typical NC weather 😜
