Ex-Sheriff David Clarke’s 2015 trip expenses paid by alleged Russian agent’s group

MILWAUKEE -- When then-Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke went on a six-day trip to Russia in 2015, a group founded by an alleged Russian agent paid his expenses.

Clarke and Maria Butina, who the U.S. Department of Justice charged this week with trying to infiltrate the National Rifle Association and other political groups, appeared together during the trip. Clarke was part of an NRA delegation.

Butina's group, The Right to Bear Arms, covered $6,000 of Clarke's meal, hotel, and transportation expenses, according to the ex-sheriff's Milwaukee County financial disclosure form.

So, of course, Tennessee saw fit to elect her to the US Senate. Ms Blackburn along with other TN Republican officials greeted and accompanied their friend Mr. Torshin in Nashville as he roamed around as an 'election observer.'

What a coinky-dink!

Link that to the NRA's enthusiastic support of Blackburn; her campaign manager's involvement with Torshin, the NRA and full-throttle defense of Blackburn's campaign fund violations; and Torshin's alleged money funneling into the NRA itself. Treacherous triplets made in heaven. Or hell.

The campaign in November was reluctant to answer any questions about these connections. But still, Tennesseans elected Ms Blackburn to a 6-year term.

So glad I'm moving!

Maybe we need to deport them instead of turning the U.S. into a satellite of Putin.

GOP as far as I'm concerned. I think we're going to be appalled at how many are compromised and were complicit in this debacle. Makes my head hurt.

All GOP should GO to their mother Russia.
