That first toon is good -- how do you answer such a question? It is its own warning flag of the inability, or refusal, to *think*!

The problem is that it is very profitable to deny anthropogenic global warming and the steps necessary to mitigate it. As just one example, a petroleum powered vehicle has lots of revenue streams built in; an electric vehicle eliminates many of those revenue streams. (That's true even if you ignore the fact that you can generate your own electricity but not likely to refine your own crude).
