Giuliani served as United States Associate Attorney General from 1981 to 1983. That year he became the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, holding the position until 1989.

AG in NY but I think his sexual history was used to prevent him from pursuing an investigation into Trumps shady business dealings as well...

Who were the NY AGs been for the last 30 years? They're all suspect, as far as I am concerned!

i know they went after him for housing discrimination earlier, so why didn't they go after him for taxes at least? Who was he paying off that is no longer there, is what this looks like to me, but that's just a WAG.

Dragged out for years. Prosecutors like to go for the easier marks. Also there was a big push on violent organized crime, so Trump's low grade BS was not a priority.

There are only so many prosecutors and lots of crime.

Plus his types of crimes are relatively easy to conceal - on the surface. And prosecutors can’t go past the surface without some trigger like a whistle blower or bank report.

to prove beyond a reasonable doubt to a jury. They're often very complex and have many grey areas to them, so prosecutors are hesitate to get involved with all the research and leg work needed.

and settle for some reasonable amount less than your profit. Government looks like it's doing something and Trump still makes money.
