(100,076 posts)At least even in his administration, conservatives weren't on a warpath to destroy the government like they are now!

I cannot go as far as you Initech. You might be a kinder person then I am.

(100,076 posts)He still gave us Citizens United. And endless war. And for that, fuck him and his administration. But compared to the piece of shit we have now, I'd still take a million George Bushes before I take another Donald Trump.

(5,106 posts)Don't insult Trump's tailors. I'd bet it's way harder to fit Trump than it is to fit Dubya (who somehow survived using up all that energy).

President Obama is a constant reminder to Trump of what Trump can never hope to be.

(16,926 posts)that he would never even ask that. He was so giving in his service to our country - and when you talk about the "Christian" thing to do - 'turn the other cheek' - has ANY American public servant done as much as he did - only to be followed by the horse's ass that was out there in front throwing the s**t at him?
I am so ashamed at how some people treated such a great, noble, humble, brilliant man, as well as his family.
We may never see the likes of him pass our way again - and it is America's loss.

(66,369 posts)It filled my heart with joy when we had a national leader that the leaders of other nations admired, respected, and liked.
They liked President Obama; they enjoyed his company.
We were a better nation then. Taking pride in his excellence was rewarding.
Trump's dismayingly squalid administration makes me so ashamed to be an American right now...

(19,564 posts)I knew it would be, but reality is harsh. Perhaps, even harsher than I'd anticipated? And, I thought I was a pessimist out of the box on this one, but it appears I was somewhat optimistic vs. reality.
I deeply miss sanity, complete sentences and the general sense of security in the many facetets I used to enjoy. I miss logic and linear thinking the most I suspect. For me, those are my security blanket.
