Otherwise, she is a dead woman walking. Putin appears to have already disappeared her handler, Alexander Torshin. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-11-30/nra-linked-russia-central-banker-retires-as-aide-nears-u-s-deal

(58,785 posts)Just looked. Normal retirement for the central bank is at 60, but he signed on at 61 and is now 65. Our treasury department hit him with sanctions in April. I had wondering if Butina could possibly have an agreement with the Kremlin allowing her to talk if arrested (Trump-Russia is also about humiliating and disrupting our nation), but maybe not. Poor things.
I read that Butina would not exactly have been one of their top-level spies, and someone on 11th Hour said that tonight also. "Normally we just deport them," them being run of the mill Russian agents we pick up. In spite of the shocking degree of access she achieved to influential Republicans, the suggestion was also that Mueller's investigation was probably focused on people operating at a much higher level.
Even so, who doubts that Mueller knows exactly how she got into that 2015 Candidate Trump news conference and how it was that Trump called on her and told Russia and the world he felt we didn't need sanctions on Russia?
