It's almost like Trump just said some bullshit and now he's shutting down the government because no one wants to swallow it.
What does the wall cost, two billion dollars? Do you realize how many military parades that could pay for?!

(6,082 posts)I like his tweet about how renegotiating NAFTA saves us enough for his wall. Well then why is he threatening to shut down the government for the wall money? Nothing he says makes any sense and I can't believe how many people fall for his BS.

(1,580 posts)preventing any good republicans from working all those great agricultural jobs. Hey, the living conditions are great and the pay is amazing. Plus, they would get to "work hard" like they always talk about. The jobs are there, just go work them.

D_Master81
(1,822 posts)that seems to be the line for now. Americans front the bill to pay for it, then Mexico pays us back over a period of time.

(54,027 posts)That's how you think business works if you've never had to manage a real job in your life. If you provide a customer a service that they pay back later, but they always have to put in a downpayment or retainer up front. You don't just build an expensive product and hope the customers will show up one day, without any kind of market research.
Hell, who knows?! What if we end up building a big beautiful wall, and the Mexicans don't even like it?

(5,499 posts)They will pay us back $1 a year for however long it takes to pay off the loan. If you think of it in those terms, it's a great investment.
Seriously though, something like that is coming, I'm sure.
I'm thinking about all the payroll taxes and unreclaimed Social Security payments that undocumented workers make to the United States Treasury every year. Stopping undocumented workers coming into the country might cost us an additional 70 billion dollars
