ABC’s Terry Moran Confronts Sarah Sanders For Claim Mexico Will Pay For Wall: ‘What’s the Math on That?!’

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders gave her first press briefing in weeks on Tuesday, and she faced a barrage of questions over President Donald Trump‘s demand for border wall funding.

ABC News’s Terry Moran was scathing in his questioning, directly confronting Sanders over Trump’s nonsensical claim that his USMCA trade deal with Mexico will result in the country paying for a wall on its border.

“With the deficit ballooning to over a trillion dollars under this president, where are the additional monies for this wall going to come from? And why is [Trump] asking the American taxpayer for them when he promised Mexico was going to pay?” Moran asked.

“Look, we’re not asking American taxpayers for that,” Sanders replied. “We are looking at existing funding through other agencies right now that we can draw on to do that, in the — immediately. The president has been clear, the president has been clear that the USMCA deal would provide additional revenue through that deal that would show that Mexico is paying for the wall.”

“The trade benefits, if there are any, don’t go to the treasury,” Moran pointed out.

(they are a deeply right wing religious family).
When I went to talk to her (she's close to 50 and living with her parents and boyfriend rent free), she acted and spoke like a 12 year old—instantly argumentative and defiant.
Very strange and creepy stuff.

This exchange is mind-boggling in its stupidity.

“The trade benefits, if there are any, don’t go to the treasury,” Moran pointed out.

“He is saying the revenue provided and the money that would be saved through the USMCA deal, we could pay for the wall four times over,” Sanders insisted. “And by doing that new trade deal, we have the opportunity to pay for the wall.”

“But trade benefits go to private citizens,” Moran shot back. “They don’t go to the United States treasury.”

“He’s talking about the general revenue that comes from that,” Sanders said.

“So you’re going to tax…” Moran asked.

“No we’re not taxing, we’re talking about additional revenue that wouldn’t have existed without the president getting a new deal,” Sanders replied.

correct past unfair trade incomes. We are going to get increases from Mexico and Canada -- yeah!!! But, Trump is going to blow our new gains on building us a wall. That would make us the biggest fool in North America.
