The very somber guest -- can't remember his name, but his credentials are impeccable -- said he felt the judge overstepped, that he inserted himself into the trial, acted a bit like a prosecutor. He believes this could actually be grounds for the request of a new judge, but this is highly, HIGHly, unlikely to happen for a variety of reasons.

I love this guy, Emmet Sullivan and respect his commitment to the truth and accountability.

This is why you seldom see a motion to recuse in federal court. The motion is in effect asking the judge to find that he himself is biased and should remove himself from the case. How many judges would admit that they are biased? You would then be stuck in front of this same judge for the rest of the case and would wonder whether the motion really ticked him off and will affect your case.
