GOP lawmaker doubts government workers live paycheck to paycheck

Story here:

GOP lawmaker doubts government workers live paycheck to paycheck

Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) said a government shutdown would not truly impact employees and scoffed at the idea that a federal worker would need their next paycheck to make ends meet.

"Who's living that they're not going to make it to the next paycheck?" he asked Politico reporter Sarah Ferris.

"Why are government employees so sacrosanct? Private sector employees deal with this all the time...The government's not immune to these things," he added.

Scott Perry, doing Pennsylvania proud!

Along with their families. Who in Congress doesn't think these employees need their paychecks?

$10,000 for each day the government is shut down. It's a fine for bad governance.

I seem to recall this being an option (not the specific amount, just a fine), but I can't remember where I saw that.

They think they are all overpaid and underworked and live in mansions. I am an not a federal employee but I do work on a Federal contract and I know its no gravy train as a federal worker. Not all but by and large they are serious committed hard working people. Many are not well-paid but stay in the federal work force because they care about the mission of the work they do. The GOpers and Trump have no idea.
