@JohnFugelsang
My President changed military policy to something Putin wanted without even consulting the military while simultaneously threatening shutdown over a racist ineffective wall the majority of American taxpayers oppose and all I got was this lousy 500-point stock drop.Link to tweet

(7,142 posts)Mattis is pissed because we promised the Kurds if they helped us fight ISIS we would stand by them. Our country went back on our word, no other country should trust us. Yes Trump made a deal with Erdogan and probably Putin that the US is ok with Turkey killing the Kurds. Trump has a tower in Turkey, maybe Erdogan will rent a few floors?

(49,002 posts)tRump is an aberration who only obtained power illegally despite losing the vote, by stealing the Electoral College by a 40,000 vote swing assisted in collusion by Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, an adversary.
When tRump is gone, steps will be taken to repair the damage.
The US will be great again some medium amount of time after tRump is gone.

(7,142 posts)I'm talking about the present. If you are the head of another country are you going to share sensitive information with the United States? Are you going to share information that may get informants or spies killed?
Trump has done a lot of damage to our country and I suspect that it will take a while to restore trust in America after Trump is gone. When the Kurds are slaughtered the narrative around the world is going to be that America goes back on its word. You and I and most Americans know that the slaughter of the Kurds is on Trump, he wouldn't listen to Mattis, but the damage to our country's reputation will be done.

(16,927 posts)but it will take a quality person - a Democrat - to lead the way.
Do you remember how Germany went wild with the first visit by our last real President, Barack Obama, when he visited them at the end of the "W" disaster?
It can happen again.
It is up to us.

(3,922 posts)The sad reality is, he's winning.
He has already subverted the DOJ - the DOJ! We don't have a credible Justice Dept. Think about that.
He rammed through the destructive tax bill which will have enormously regressive impact on the country.
His lies don't matter to roughly 40% of Americans who will follow him off a cliff if need be.
His incompetence has severely eroded the nest eggs of millions of Americans at a time when the Baby Boomer generation is retiring.
We seemingly, at this point, have no recourse. Mueller's investigation will be ignored and possibly neutered by Whitaker - a treasonous clown, aided by another traitor, Barr.
Significant evidence exists that points to foreign influence - from several players - in crippling our democracy. Russia, of all players, somehow rose from the ignominious fall of the Soviet Union to being the primary driver of destroying the American democracy! I mean W-T-F?!
The GOP, long known as a narrow-minded, racist, elitist cabal representing the worst of our society, has effectively gained total control of the country - at least until January.
Even if the Democratic Congress can somehow - at least - slow this carnage down, the country is deeply and fundamentally broken.
Stupidity and ignorance has its' price. This country, in an exhibition of it's own flawed democratic system, elected an incompetent, addled, compromised, zero of a human being as it's President.
We won't just move on from this one, folks.

(8,835 posts)Everyone keeps saying Trump this and Trump that............
IT ISN'T TRUMP PEOPLE
It's the Republicans in the House and Senate that fully endorse
everything he says and does. They use him as a daily smoke
screen to make us all look away from all the huge amount of
nepharious republican crap that they are voting thru every day
while the people are distracted by fat/stupid boy.
He would not exist for a minute if it weren't for the Republican House
and Senate and all the Republican voters who put them all in office.
IT'S NOT TRUMP, IT IS ALL OF THE REPUB PARTY.............
