Nuclear Option to pass tRump's medieval wall funding?

Yep. tRump asked McYertle to consider using the nuclear option to pass his wall funding.

My question: why even bother? Why not just assert that any bill brought before the Senate that tRump wants to pass will now be considered passed even if it garners not a single yea vote? That’s what tRump actually wants, and as the spineless Rs are all about giving him what he wants, why not?

because he knows it is inevitable that soon, likely 2020, Dems will have majorities in both houses, plus the WH. The GOP needs the filibuster as much as the Dems do. That's how McConnell started his tenure as GOP Senate leader -- being obstructionist via filibuster.

If he does nuke it, then the 2020 race will be about whether the public want Dems to ditch the deficit-exploding Trump tax cuts, pass single payer health care, etc without a GOP Senate filibuster in the way. And yes, the people do want that stuff. And no, Repukes don't.
