I think trump is acting out because he knows he is

road kill beginning next month.

He is trying to please Putin and his MAGA followers. He thinks they will protect him from Mueller.

I also think Putin has no more use for trump and hopefully he is losing support from the right.

Those who have their wagon hitched to trump may look elsewhere as trump is weakened in 2019.

As long as Trump can enrich himself he will remain President. He is successfully fundraising off of this latest threat, that and loyalty is all that matters. If/When the time comes that he begins to lose money, he will cut a deal to get out of jail free for his resignation.

they don't need nearly as much support from congress or even the people to do things on the international stage.

in terms of domestic political popularity, foreign policy is a bit of a crap shoot. you're at the mercy of complicated and unpredictable events largely outside of your control. but if you've failed on domestic policy, it's tempting to go there and throw the dice.

of course, donnie couldn't even win if his number came up. he'll find a way to get us into a ridiculous mess....

Get them salivating about the wall, and they're not bothering to look at Mueller as much.

the lifting of sanctions on Oleg V. Deripaska, one of Russia’s most influential oligarchs:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/19/us/politics/sanctions-oleg-deripaska-russia-trump.html

There is absolutely NO WAY these things are NOT all tied together:

- Trump in MASSIVE jeopardy in the USA
- Russia getting some payoff from its election help vis a vis Deripaska getting PAID
- Turkey getting license from Trump to exterminate the Kurds (in exchange for MBS back down)
- Putin getting to publically crow and soak up attention at the expense of a collapsing US foreign policy

This is pathetic.
Trump should be in metaphorical CHAINS awaiting trial in the Senate (his idiot offspring should be in REAL chains awaiting trial).

This stain on the nation has become a festering wound. It must be cleansed and treated or it runs the risk of septic shock and killing us all...

while it SHOULD be talked about, there is so much more going on on the larger scale... shutdowns, Syria, Mattis.... something like this just flies under the radar and can't get airtime. One of the reasons he slipped it in when he did.

Not us. Not Repugs. Not even his own base. Ingraham, Coulter, Limbaugh all know, just like the rest of us, that he has boxed himself in with his lies. Pay up time has come for this lying, stupid President.
