Referee known for his racism makes high school wrestler cut off his locks.

Disgusting and heartbreaking. A referee known for his racism, Alan Maloney (google him), made high school wrestler Andrew Johnson cut off his dreads or lose the match. They were covered and gave him no advantage. So he cut them off. He won the match. Never should’ve been allowed.

?

Well-known wrestling official Alan Maloney used a racial slur at a social gathering of officials in March, according to a report by the Courier-Post.

And it's not about the wrestler with the dreads getting an advantage, it's about their opponent not getting their finger caught in it and breaking/injuring the finger. In WI, you can have twists uncovered, but not cornrows. It's safety and not advantage.
